Task Complexity PD- LA Global Studies- 11-4-14

In this PD we will dive in to looking at the complexity of the tasks we are asking students to do and identify the skills students will need to know in order to be successful while also identifying the levels of rigor students are being challenged by.

We will begin with deconstructing a common core aligned ELA task.  We will identify what skills students will need in order  to be successful along with looking at what completion of the task represents in relation to student learning. Then dive in to identifying the the DOK levels and finish with reflecting as to why it is important to know these elements about the tasks we assign and how this information may help the school build its progression of skills.
